Parish Announcements - December 2011

Koliada – we are inviting our parishioners & friends to send in their seasonal gift of love.

Membership: There are still some individuals who have not paid their membership for the year 2011. The Parish Executive invites them to do so before Dec. 25, 2011 in order to that the amount qualifies for 2011 income tax receipts. Fill out the attached form & get it to the church before Sunday.

Heating & other Utilities: Though we have installed a new & efficient furnace, the cost of heating & electricity is extremely onerous on our finances.  As in the past, we invite you to donate a gift of love to ensure that we can provide these necessities to all the people who participate in the many volunteer-run church activities.

Feast of Jordan, Parish Luncheon will take place on Sunday, January 15, 2012 in the parish hall after the Divine Liturgy. Everyone is warmly invited to participate in this parish tradition.

Jordan Home Blessings: Beginning on January 19, 2012, Fr. Volodymyr will begin his annual round of blessing your homes with Holy Water.  You will be called a 3-4 days in advance of the time that Fr. Volodymyr will be in your area in order to arrange a time that is convenient for you. If you have any concerns about the time of the visit, please call Olia Kowcz at 514-722-1579.

Sunday School: We are inviting parents to bring their children to Sunday school which begins every Sunday morning at 10:15 a.m.  If you need more information, then please call Dobr. Popovich (514-366-3684) or Fr. Volodymyr at 514-727-2236.

Metropolitan Ilarion Ukrainian School conducts language classes every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. If you wish your children to either learn the language or give them more opportunity to use it & to make new friends, then register your children.  For more information, you may call Dobr. St. Valentine’s Day: The St. Sophie Camp Committee is organizing a fun-filled evening of activity on February 11, 2012.  There will be music for dancing, games, prizes etc. and the evening will begin at 7 p.m. So prepare to party!  Tickets may be purchased in advance on Sunday after Liturgy from Adrianna Zerebecky (514-603-4303) or Fr. Volodymyr (514-727-2236) or from Fr. Volodymyr when he visits your home with Holy Water.

Annual Parish Meeting, February 26, 2012:  Please set aside this date on your calendar to ensure your attendance. Please remember that, according to our church by-laws, only those who have paid their membership in full for the year 2011 are entitled to vote. Others may attend but they do not have the right to vote.
