Дорогі брати і сестри у Христі!

Христос Воскрес! Воїстино Воскрес

Першим словом воскреслого Ісуса Христа, з яким Він звернувся до жон-мироносиць, цих перших благовісниць Його Воскресіння, було: "Радуйтеся!" Чому вони повинні були радуватися? Не тільки тому, що побачили живим свого Учителя, а тому, що була переможена смерть у людській природі. В особі воскреслого Ісуса Христа людська природа визволилася від гріха і смерті.

Звістка про Воскресіння Христа і донині така сама радісна і так само переповнює наші серця духовною радістю. Вона пронеслася по всьому світу і полонила душі віруючих людей. До неї горнуться всі стражденні й обтяжені недолею, шукаючи в ній душевного заспокоєння. Своїм воскресінням з мертвих Христос переконливо довів, що Він є Бог, Який з'єднався з людською природою, і що Його вчення - це Божественне одкровення, дане людям.

Воскресіння Христове стало запорукою вічного життя людства. У час смутку і скорботи, коли ми переживаємо смерть наших близьких, Воскресіння Христове вселяє в наші серця велику надію. Воно дає нам бадьорість і силу, щоб перемагати сум і тугу. Воскресіння Христове єднає живих і померлих в одну сім'ю. Воскресіння Христове дарувало людині найсолодшу радість. Воскресіння Христове надихає нас на боротьбу проти неправди і кривди. Воно надихає нас на труд і побожне життя.

Не треба впадати у відчай, коли ми бачимо навколо себе несправедливість, неправедне збагачування, владолюбство та інші пороки сучасного світу. На Голгофі теж панували неправда і зло, але Христос Своїм Воскресінням переміг не тільки смерть, але й усіляке зло.

Історія вчить нас, що в житті завжди перемагають правда і любов, бо з ними Бог. Тому той, хто з'єднує себе з неправдою, приречений на поразку. Воскресіння Христове є яскравим доказом цього.

Вітаємо вірних Катедри Святої Софії, нашу молодь, прихильників, прицерковні організації при нашій громаді! Сердечно вітаємо наших братів і сестер в Україні і по за її межами.Нехай воскреслий Господь оновить наші духовні сили на добрі справи для блага нашої громади на славу Бога і нашого народу.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ, April 2008

Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed!

The first words of Christ which He addressed to the Myrrh-bearing women who were the first heralds of His resurrection, were, “Rejoice.” Why were they to rejoice? Not only because they saw their Teacher alive but also because death had been conquered. In the person of the Risen Christ, mankind had freed itself from sin and death.

To this day, the news of Christ’s Resurrection fills our hearts with spiritual rejoicing. The news travelled across the world and captivated the souls of those burdened by suffering and misfortune who in turn responded to its promise of spiritual comfort. With His resurrection from the dead, Christ convincingly led His followers to believe that He is God who became one with mankind and that His teachings – which are God’s revelation - are His gift to mankind

The Resurrection of Christ is the promise of life-everlasting. In time of grief and sorrow at the passing of a loved one, the Resurrection of Christ fills our hearts with great hope, courage and strength to help us vanquish sorrow and melancholy. The Resurrection Christ unites the living and the dead into a single family. The Resurrection of Christ bestows upon us the sweetest hope. The Resurrection of Christ inspires us to fight against acting falsely or doing harm. Moreover, it encourages us to struggle to live a godly life.

It is not useful to sink into despair when we see around us instances of injustice, greed, illicit gains, and other sinful features of contemporary society. Evil and falsehood also flourished on Golgotha but Christ, through His Resurrection, vanquished not only death but also other evils.

History teaches us that Truth and Love always prevail because God is their source. Those who embrace falsehood are destined for defeat. The Resurrection of Christ is a blinding example of this.

On the occasion of the Easter Pascha, we greet the faithful parishioners of St. Sophie, our youth, all the organizations in our parish and all our friends and supporters. We extend our sincere greetings to our Ukrainian brothers and sisters in Ukraine and in the diaspora. May the Risen Christ renew our spiritual energy to do good on behalf of our parish and our nation, and for the glory of God.
